Loads of Love
Loads of Love is a way of caring for people who are struggling financially by assisting them launder their own clothes. Loads of Love serves people that are living on the streets, in vehicles, in shelters or living with multiple families in a single family dwelling due to financial hardship. People served meet the definition of someone without a home, are food insecure and live in poverty. What Occurs? People in need of assistance are informed of regular opportunities to launder their clothes free of charge at local laundromats. Upon arriving at the laundromat they are met by caring community volunteers that provide the money and laundry detergent needed to launder their clothes. Volunteers also focus on building relationships and provide a human connection often not experienced by those who live in poverty. Once trust is developed, volunteers are able to offer participants additional resources to meet other life needs. Print out a list of 2019 Loads of Love event dates. You can also print out a Monthly Event Flyer indicating all the planned laundry events on the SB south coast to share with people in need. Relief Too often individuals find themselves in immediate need of resources and support to meet their basic care needs. Genuine Concern For Others, Inc. aims to implement relief projects for the poor and disadvantaged that focus on basic care needs and the potential means to sustain them. Genuine Concern For Others Inc. is a nonprofit public benefit corporation organized for charitable and educational purposes. Our mission is to provide assistance to individuals in Santa Barbara County by collaborating with like-minded partners to organize and implement projects that focus on child and youth development, self-sufficiency, relief for the poor and disadvantaged and other social and community issues aimed at assuring the health, safety and general welfare of people. |
